A Letter from the President
25th July 2007
Dear Students,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the IFHRO website and, in particular, to the student web page.
One of the goals of the International Federation of Health Records (IFHRO) is to support national associations and health record/health information management professionals to implement and improve health records and the systems which support them in their own countries. IFHRO was established in 1968 as a forum to bring together national organisations committed to improvement in the use of health records in their different countries. One of the most effective ways of improving the use of health records is by educating the professionals who are the custodians of these priceless resources and who also have a wider responsibility for Health Information Management. HIM students are the future of our profession and we want them to be well equipped for their future roles.
The education of Health Information Management professionals is vital and the need for education of this important professional group is common to all countries around the world. Students from different countries and cultures with different HIM educational needs can always find common ground for discussion and to stimulate professional debate and I hope that you will find this special part of the IFHRO website to be a valuable resource for you in connecting with fellow students and professionals around the world.
With best wishes,
Lorraine Nicholson
President of IFHRO
